Urgent assistance re Sync 2 stuck updating

Can anyone assist.

reading the forums and instructions seen that updating from the files for pack 5 on USB appeared to take 20-40minutes on this file 3 of 16, so initially wasn’t concerned.  I have now been on this but for at least 1 hour 20mins. Radio came on during reboots and has stayed on. 

has it jammed? Can I stop it safely?

started the process at 3pm it’s now 450pm and I can’t sit in my car indefinitely.

 

if anyone can help advise me I’d greatly appreciate it as I seen someone comment (not UK right enough) that he was told to take USB out and it’s basically crashed his SYNC and will cost thousand to repair.

    UPDATE: 19.02.22

    After 2 attempts the first 250pm to 730pm and 830am to 330pm the system remained stuck on file 3 of 16.

    First attempt the USB was in the front console the 2nd attempt in the arm rest USB. USB was cleared and reformatted between 1st and 2nd attempt. Both unsuccessful.

    This was using a sandisk 32GB. Reading some reports in America granted not UK it mentioned that its best to use either an 8GB or 16GB anything else is too big and problematic.

    Bought another USB and to be sure got a different make Kioxia from Asda 16GB and formatted again and downloaded the files.

    Within 4 minutes was on 2 of 16 and 30 minutes later SYNC2 was updated. Happy husband and no divorce now required.
