1.0 ecoboost focus loss of power

Featured Replies

Just wanted to put up a small forum as I’ve recently had this issue with my 2013 focus 1.0 ecoboost. I had been experiencing major power loss which would end up making my car have the message “engine malfunction” and it go into limp mode. I knew it had something to do with the turbo as the turbo wasn’t as loud as it was usually and it would have that boy racer psh sound. Anyways I diagnosed the issue after going crazy and it was my boost pipe from the turbo hard pipe to intercooler which had ripped because it was close to the crank motors and it cause it to rip and loose power. So if anyone is experiencing any issues like this try and check your turbo to intercooler boost pipe as it’s a 5 minute check and could save you a ton of money.
