Battery Type

Featured Replies

Just bought a Maypole charger for my Focus MK4 , There are two option modes 1/ STD  2/ AGM .

Iv'e chosen option 2 (AGM) is this OK ?.

Also is a AGM battery the same as an EFB , if my car is a EFB will charging in the AGM mode damage it ?

Many Thanks

Ps what would happen if you used an old lead acid charger.

Loads of  comparison of the two types on the web, including this , or you might try looking at the web site for the manufacturer of your battery. And of course the supplier of your charger!

Ka-ching said @StephenFord 🤣🤣🎉

There should be a sticker on the battery to tell you what type it is, as below.

Not a good idea to use an old type charger on a modern vehicle with an "intelligent" charging system.
