Does anyone know the location of the ignition module on a MK3 XR3i?

Don’t know about xr3i but when I had mk3 1.6ghia I am pretty sure the ignition module was screwed to the side of the distributor. Most people I know who had  mk3 escort had electronic ignition problems.  The failure rate was high.   I don’t know if it was different when the i came out.  If it has separate unit and it’s not mounted on distributor I think it will be on near side inner wing.   Follow wires from distributor and Ignition coil.   Does xr3i have a distributor?   I don’t know how much more advanced the i was

More on above.  I might be wrong but I think when the units mounted on distributor failed, the replacement may have been new distributor and separate electronic unit on the wing.  I wonder if failure might have been the heat as dustributor would have been quite hot and transmit the heat to the electronic module.    Edit:  can’t find evidence of that, perhaps I imagined it.
