Adgy
Hi recently purchased a fiesta st line 140hp from ford. I insured it through Halifax insurance and the details said 140hp. However just got my log book through from DVLA and the power states 92kw which equates to 123hp. Does anyone else have a 140hp car that has 92kw on their log book or does it state 104kw? Thanks
Tizer
If you have a look at the VIN Plate on the door pillar it should tell you.
Eric Bloodaxe
As John says, the plate on the door pillar will tell you. Mine correctly states 140ps/103kW. I would expect your V5C would be correct - mine correctly states 103kw also. Incidentally, when I first got mine the Mk 8 was still fairly new and some of the insurance company look up tables on websites did not correctly identify the power from the registration number. I would have expected that to be sorted by now, though. If your door pillar plate and V5C do not say 140ps/103kw it would appear you have been mis-sold and need to take it up with the dealer.

As others say, it will say on the door plate also. I don't see the V5 being wrong but you never know.
Edge of Reason
Look on the bright side. Your insurance may go down when you tell them the power is less than you anticipated.

As said look at the decal or search the car on Fordetis.

Etis only states Fiesta 2012-2019, 1.0L EcoBoost 120PS/125PS/140PS

Guest
This practise of miss describing 125s as 140 is widespread in the used car trade. Always ask to see the vinplate. I pointed this issue out to a major, well known, used car dealer recently about a 140 I looked at. Three weeks later it is still advertised as a 140. They must think people are daft..! Edge of Reason
You’ll know if it’s a 125 rather than a 140 if you try and pull the skin off a rice pudding. Yes = 140.
