hopefully about the 5-5,500k mark all depends on what i get for my current focus (between 4,250-4,000) i can get a perfect condtion astra coupe for 4k with full vauxhall service history etc but the focus im after (mk1 1.8tdci 115bhp ghia with all the extras) are going for between 4-5k for one in similar condtion to the vauxhalls

fair enough its a good budget like, you could get the older Fiesta ST?

Also, have you considered the finance sort of options?

oooo fezzy st my cus had one of those was a lovley car lol his was a bright red 08 plate as for finance goes id rather cut my arms and legs of! dont like the idea of driving a car i dont own :P lol

Might try a crash repaired car can get some good stuff for a good price il have to get it checked over by the aa etc 1st though

  • Author

thats an option too,

Im sure if you went to a ford dealer they'd find you a very good car for that price.... i do like the feista ST but... my history with second hand cars not good... haha

they seem to charge over the odds for the diesel focus's and anything with an st badge on can get a normal ghia petrol or zetec for a damn good price though and i dont have much of a car history im still on my 1st! what happend to you though if ya dont mind my asking

My car history isnt massive, im only 20...

Car 1 was a 1997 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec 5dr (in orange- a bit random i know), It was actually an ok car but one night in the fast lane of a duel carriageway the clutch went... and because it was night... had to pay to be recovered 25 miles.... from then on little problems started pop'in up. Such as windows played up, handbrake stopped working... all of which i paid to be fixed...

Car 2 was my 1996 VW Golf Mk3 1.8 SE, Very suprinsingly, not much faster than my fiesta, well i didnt think it was.... Well this is for sale now after.... new suspension, needs new water bottle, Exhaust was blowing, new exhaust manifold, headgaskets been done, head gasket skimmed too, paintwork starting to chip, basically feels (not so much now) as if was going to fall apart peice by peice as i was driving along...

Car 3, my 2010 ford fiesta s1600..... LOVE IT

ive still got my 1st born a 2004 focus mk1 thats been completly gutted and turned into a ghia basically but with a stupidally loud exhaust and stero system but thankfully nothings ever really gone wrong its had a new waterpump and the rear arches are starting to rust but thats an easy fix, the biggest problem id have is controling my right foot im a heavey footed driver so a fez st or something would either kill me or cause me to lose my licence lol i dont no :( need a bloodey job 1st i think

i only just realised you 18 arent you?

Yeah the insurance would prob kill you too!

IMO you want a car that not all the "boy racers" are getting, you want something to stand out from the crowd...

Everyone seems to drive Vauxhall Corsa's, Renault Clio's, where i live there is a *idiot* driving a astra (but only one driving a astra, so a bit more unique, he just drives like a complete *beep*).

Everyones heavy footed though... just got to know limits... since i got my fiesta, my driving style has completely changed... i take care and drive properly rather than a "boy racer" approach i had in my golf.

i drive with care alot more now than i used to and ever since fitting the exhaust system i backed off because it sounds soooo much meaner under low revs it properly growls like a lion  and yeah 19 on the 24th though woooo, theres only one coupe where i live and none of the boy racers have twiged onto the focus round here bar the odd few end even then there just the 1.4's and high milage 1.6's so easily blowin into the weeds but yeah all the ****s have vauxhalls because there so easy to mod there like mechano u can fit a 1.8 astra engine into a corsa b and all u need to do it adapt 4 wires to the ecu or something cant really remember but i no a few people that have and then crashed ... HAA but yeah anyway ..

You got any mods planed for the s1600 or you going to be leaving it well alone

I'd like to lower it a little more, however i have the warranty etc... to think about...

Im looking into having the rear windows tinted, but im going to go via Ford and see if they can do it... at least it will be under warranry and i dnt have to worry... but i need to look into that.

Possibly in a years time i might get the Mountune upgrade to 140bhp, but who knows that's £1500 so will wait and see.

Otherwise, it looks pretty good already i think haha

As for the Vauxhalls being modded, it makes me laugh. Their driving like they have a Ferrari, and its a 1.1 maybe 1.2 at best... idiots
