Radio and comms dead

Hi

I have a 6th Gen Fiesta. 2013 plate

The small display works for the clock but the radio, cd and the ability to make a hands free call is dead.

There is nothing on the display, the steering wheel buttons have no effect.

Just before it all dies there was a loud crackling and banging, for a few seconds, through the Speakers but it isn't just the Speakers as the display does not work.

It looks like the whole "sound" system has failed.

Is this common? Could it be a fuse?

How much would it be to replace?

Is it better to go independent to replace or via a Ford garage.
