Random engine problem

Advice/help needed please. Random, occasional fault with a 2007 Ford Focus. There is steady pressure on the accelerator pedal, but rhythmic rise and fall of revs. Happens at random times when driving, no faults or codes on dash. It has been into a garage with no luck. Does it every few months for a couple of days then stops. TIA

Hi.  Can you tell us more detail of your car, e.g. which engine and whether it's man or auto (which I suspect is very relevant to your problem).
