Will there be a spare fuse hole under the glovebox thats only live when the ignition therefore the stereo is on, that i can tap into for the remote wire to turn on the sub. I dont fancy splicing into the headunit power supply. Cant come off the usb socket as thats permanently live as its always illuminated.

    Is it an aftermarket unit?  They usually have remote wires built into the loom adapter?
