Fiesta Makeover

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have had my 2014 Fiesta Titanium X for quite a few years now. It’s about this time I’d usually start thinking about getting a new car (was only going to look for similar slightly newer 2016/17 Fiesta tbh!), but given the current climate I’ve decided that might not make financial sense! Instead, I’m thinking of investing in a bit of a Fiesta makeover, inspired by the 5-door ST-Line, also adding sat nav, and getting the alloys powder coated. In terms of the front mesh grilles/fog surrounds that’s easy enough, but if I decide to go further than that I have a few questions, which I’m hoping someone can help with:

1. The body styling kit as per ST-Line (and previous Zetec S) was never available with front parking sensors - does the front skirt not fit with them, or would the sensors not work with it fitted?

2. My Fiesta is ‘Midnight Sky’ and I have read some horror stories about the cost of this paint - do you think that would prevent me from sourcing used styling kit parts, or from getting parts painted this colour?

3. On the subject of Midnight Sky…I’m not sure what colour wheels would work best with it, as it’s not exactly grey!

3. In terms of ‘de-chroming’ is it best to a) wrap, b) re-spray, or c) replace parts?

Have attached a photo of my Fez, and the inspiration haha, any advice greatly welcomed - thanks! 🙂

Liam

There should be plenty of second hand skirts and bumpers available at breakers. They weren't exactly sparse..

The Rear bumper is the same on all models, but the spats require a set of cutouts. the ST-Line infill then clips in, and the spats are held on by metal clips and a set of rivets. You'd probably be best to find a full rear bumper set in white.  Side Skirts are attached by a series of clips and double sided tape. You'll need several holes in your sills for these clips to go into. Front is like the rear in that it's a paiece that clips onto your standard bumper via slots, so buying a bumper is easiest. your chap can then re drill for the parking sensors.

The easiest bit is the rear spoiler that just replaces your standard one. Two bolts and 4 torx screws.

I honestly find the standard Silver finish on the wheels looks fine. I have a blue ST, and the ST-Line Alloys look nicer than the original ST grey ones, in my opinion at least.

If  you want a satnav, I can recommend this one: Garmin Nuvi 65lm satnav | eBay

I am very late to this but I’m dying to know if you managed your makeover? I have a mk7.5 5-door 1.0L eco boost and am struggling to find any body kits that fit the 5-door models!
