2009 ford focus TDCI fuel system fault

Mechanic’s theory of dirt in tank looking likely.

Hopefully the mechanic sent a fuel sample away for testing before replacing the filter again.  If the fuel was contaminated, it needs to be drained and flushed, otherwise it'll just endlessly block filters.

So an update for people.

I just got the car back and it's running fine for now.

He sent me a picture of the tank and there was brown scum around the walls of the tank.

He cleaned the tank and replaced the filter.

He also done a leak off test and the injectors are fine there all good. I will update in 2 weeks to see if issue has be resolved.

The issue was the fuel tank was bunged up with gunk and blocking the fuel filter.

Clean fuel tank

Replace fuel filter

Job done

Problem solved!

Thanks to everyone who helped me and gave advice thank you!
