1966 MK1 Cortina Radio

Featured Replies

please can anyone assist or send me in the right direction? Need a genuine 1966 Cortina radio?  PPPPLLLEEEAAASSSEE!!!

Get yourself to the NEC classic motor show (11 - 13th Nov). If you are going to find one anywhere it be there. Lots of spares on sale for old classic Fords.

My second car was a Mk 1 Cortina and can't remember ever seeing one with the factory option radio, even back then. I had a Radiomobile which moved from car to car when I swapped.

I'm sure I've seen somewhere people supplying "classic looking" Radiomobiles or Motorolas with modern digital workings.

There does seem to be quite a following for the Mk 1 in Oz, I've noticed, possibly because they've not all rusted away there, eg: http://my409.com.au/template_dental_54990/aussie-ford-radios/mk-i-cortina-radios/

Do you know what make and model the radio should be?   I am thinking perhaps someone has an ancient radio in the back of their garage but does not know it is for your cortina.   I am guessing they weren’t a Ford product but were radiomobile of something else.  Also a link to a picture of what it should look like.
