A warning light?? LOL My car is 18 years old, it doesn't have them

its a proper car not a BMW Merc, fail and complain device

I expected you to say that you had a big red flashing warning saying "None CE approved LED's Detected" accompanied by a loud warning chime 🤣

Oh, you were right, the bulbs light up no matter which way they are connected unlike most LEDs I have come across which are polarity sensitive...

As you say LED's are in fact polarity conscious. The clever trick is that fitted inside the lamp is a small Bridge Rectifier which ensures no matter what the polarity of the supply connected, the anode of the LED will always be positive.

I'm embarrassed to report this, but in the quest for the greater good, here goes.

In preparation for a forthcoming MOT, I decided to get my headlight alignment professionally checked. Well, the guy showed me the 'machine' which showed the dispersion range wasn't up to scratch. Turns out, with both (!) bulbs, I had managed to insert them the wrong way up!

Normally, the cut outs on an H7 won't allow that, but for some reason, these bulbs do allow. Anyway, all now sorted, and alignment perfect. Now, all the MOT center can do is fail them because they are LED LOL

EDIT

July 2023. Bulbs passed MOT with no issue at all, beam dispersion all within expected parameters...
