Attempts to meet increasingly stringent emission standards are subject to the law of diminishing returns and have been for several years imho.

The forthcoming Euro 7 regs have been heavily criticised for adding further layers of cost and complication while doing little if anything to reduce emissions any further.

I think the only ways forward now are synthetic fuels derived from CO2

Interesting that Porsche and Ferrari are now pushing for this to be exempt from ICE ban:

I actually believe that this is nothing to do with emissions, saving the planet, or any other mumbo  jumbo. This is about governments around the world controlling the population by restricting their movements by using backdoor tactics. Make vehicles too expensive for the masses. price fuel (including electricity) beyond the reach of ordinary folk. Introduce controlling and restrictive (and undemocratic) policies like 15 minute cities, and ULEZ.

Distract the population with digital currency controlled by a central world bank and throw in compulsory digital ID for all. Welcome to 1984+50 🙁
