Would just the pen suffice do you think? I don't think I need the lacquer for this alloy and the primer doesn't come with just the paint.

I wonder if it's because of the semi-matt finish? Also, I was wondering if it's called "Magnetite" because it seems to be an even bigger magnet than usual for brake dust!😀

Getting paranoid about mine now, there are threads on other forums about how vulnerable the wheels are to kerbing, etc. The tyre gives virtually no protection and looks odd to me - almost as if someone has fitted an undersized tyre. I believe 205 is the minimum width tyre for a 7.5" rim, 215 or 225 being more ideal.

Hi

I agree with the other forums saying its very easy to kerb 17" wheels. I had the same problems.

I now have a Renault Clio with 215/45 size tyres and don't damage as easily (you only had to look at the kerb in Fiesta and you touch it!!!!! 🙂 )

Hope this helps

You can only try..... I don't always use primer or lacquer, depends on the particular chip. I can usually find a bit of primer or lacquer in the garage from a touch up kit from a previous car if necessary without needing to buy any more.

I use a fine artist's brush rather than the one built into the cap of the paint, and usually thin the paint and build up in several layers.

A 'q' tip, or even a wooden cocktail stick is also useful, the supplied brush is usually awful for detailed work!
