Paging @JW1982 as I found an old thread with this useful nugget of info:

A 9-speaker SYNC 2/3 ACM with DAB+ and TMC support has a part number that starts with F1BT-18C815-VAx  (x can be any alphabetical character).
A 10-speaker SYNC 2/3 ACM with DAB+ and TMC support has a part number that starts with F1BT-18C815-ZAx  (x can be any alphabetical character).

I am currently using my original Sync 1 ACM but don't get TMC data at the moment, but my car is a 9 speaker car.

Did all 10 speaker cars rely on an external amplifier in the boot? I'm on the lookout for a VA* unit so I can be fully functional (no rush) but can only find ridiculous priced versions from abroad (VAP). I'm assuming a ZA* wouldn't work on a 9 speaker system without an external amp?
