Ionise
Hi, Please help diagnose my problem with my Mk2 1.6 tdci focus which has been happening for ~6 months. Symptoms: Fumy exhaust (at idle its a bit fumy, but a lot more fumy when reving), occasionally blue tinged smoke when pulling away (particularly in reverse its noticeable), decreased MPG Power is fine, idle is smooth, engine noise normal, oil not replaced for a year and level is fine so not drinking oil or anything like that. DPF delete years ago, EGR is in but unplugged (I removed to confirm its shut in closed position), air intake throttle unplugged. MAF sensor reads ~10.7g/sec at cold idle @ 789RPM. I just replaced the MAF sensor as I had a new one lying around, reading is exact same as old one, reading tracks RPM nicely. Manifold pressure 105kpa at idle Fuel rail pressure 30750kpa at idle (goes up to 76000kpa with a little bit of a rev I guess it was 2500rpm I didnt take much note). Seems high but I've got nothing to compare to. Any thoughts? Thanks,
unofix
What mileage has the engine done ? If the exhaust fumes is blue tinged then it has to be burning a little oil. Was the engine slightly over filled last time the oil was changed ?

What do you think to the fuel rail pressure?

TomsFocus
I'd expect 300 Bar in the rail at idle so that looks spot on. (100kPa = 1 Bar) I suspect the blue tinge is a bit of a red herring, either excess breather oil or a weep past the turbo oil seal. Main problem is likely to be the injectors imo. Are any of them leaking at the base? If not, I'd want to send them off for internal testing. 1
Ionise
None are leaking, although 1 did start to leak 8 months ago or so and stopped after injector specialist replacing seal. Maybe this is unrelated but I did notice this happening (video on link below). Recording is when car stationary reving with foot on clutch and when releasing accelerator so stops revving something almost makes a wooping sound which dies off as the rpms fall, it's more noticeable when in gear and releasing accelerator suddenly but not as easy to record obviously haha. https://we.tl/t-omaNsUfgHg
