2014 Fiesta bumper clips/gap?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Had my fiesta since new, and ever since then there has been a slight gap over the wheelarch where bumper joins, just on the left side. It didn’t bother me too much at first as it was only slight, but I’ve noticed lately that it’s got worse and.. I just can’t live my life like this! 🤣

I’ve had a good look at other threads on this topic, and think perhaps the bumper clips have broken or just weren’t fitted very well from factory?

I should say that I’ve never really tried to repair anything on my car before (besides replacing a resistor and changing pollen filter), but I’m a tinkerer and keen to try and save some pennies, so think I’ll give removing the bumper a go as it doesn't look too complex. Before I do though, I wanted to just get thoughts from others on if broken clips/replacing bracket is likely the problem and if so, what I ought to get to undertake this repair.

p. S. Any slight warping of the bumper is, I presume, a result of me foolishly but hopefully poking it repeatedly over past 9 years to try and make it sit flush, so please ignore that..

Sorry for posting such a boring and repetitive topic, and thanks in advance for any replies.

There should be a single screw pointing upwards through that small black plastic part into the bumper bracket.  Worth checking to see if it's missing.

Mine is the same! Too late once it’s happened but apparently it’s drips of fuel that melt something (I’m not very technical lol). Can be avoided by immediately wiping any drips
