What’s the answer waiting for them to sort the website out

Knowing Ford and the thousands of problems with the website (and that's just in one day), I expect it will be fixed by Christmas. I'm just not will to say which Christmas 🤣

I'm also trying to upload my own log file and get the same problem as you 🙄

I did have that issue when using Firefox and Safari, but with a new install of chrome it went through no problem.

If it was the adblock and privacy extension on the first two browsers or not I couldn't tell you ( I did turn all extensions off on Firefox and still did not work)

Finally got it to work just downloading map update now how many files should there be when you’ve extracted files to usb stick?

In the root directory there should be: One Folder, and two files (but you might not have the "DONTINDX" file).

In the SyncMyRide folder there will be 18 files before the install and there will be an extra log file once installation is finished.

Thanks

I don’t have the  DONTINDX" file).on my usb stick Should I download it again or is ok to install

It's not important. It just tells your Sync 3 system Not to Index the USB pen drive. It only saves a couple of minutes when it does the update.

Ok thanks

Can you upload it 2 or three different stages travel somewhere for an hour turn engine off then carry on the update as long as you don’t take the usb stick out

I put the USB in my car and left it for over a week. I think the longest I was in the car was about 25 minutes. It installed without any problems.

All that happens is if it is part way through uploading a new file when you switch off, the next time it resumes the upload it starts from the beginning  of that file. You could be very unlucky and it was just about 99% complete of one of the files when you switch off and it will have to do the whole file again but it's not a problem.

Ok thanks

These are the files in the folder SyncMy Ride as seen on my usb stick that I used for the map update. The file at the very bottom is the one to upload to Ford. The Sync software updated itself by WiFi.

Hi all,

I see this topic of SYNC 3 updating has been going for quite a while and wondered if had any success?

I purchased my Ecosport 22 plate a few weeks ago and Ford were saying the was an update available. I wanted to update my Nav maps. I ran the SYNC3 USB update but the Ford said the logfile had an error and then disabled all software downloads for me!

Many calls to Ford customer service got me …Tech team will fix this in 48Hrs…3 days later..tech team will fix this in 2 weeks, and no, you can’t talk directly to them.
online it was telling me to update maps by wi-fi. I connected my car to my home wi-fi ok, but then wi-fi updates just says ‘scanning for updates’ for ever (i ran the engine for 20 mins) and gave up.

Contacted customer services again and was told to contact my dealer. Did that twice now but they won’t respond.

Is there any way of getting the Nax maps update files without waiting for Ford to fix the logfile problem?

Read most of page 5 of the following thread. The secret to uploading the log file seems to be not to login, and instead manually type your VIN number in then click the login

.....and it's worked 👍

Instead of logging in as I have been doing, I just manually typed in the VIN, and hey presto !! file uploaded in 5 seconds 😀

Thanks guys but i cannot do that anymore. Ford have disabled my software updates .. see attachment. i have obtained the logfile update .zip and redone the logfile but i no longer have an option to upload it to Ford.

If i click on the ‘view details’ i get a message ‘connectivity disabled’ on the next screen.

ahhh, my pc must be doing that automatically whenever i go on the site, right, try to NOT login now….

Right this is what I get if i don’t login but just enter my VIN…

Again, nowhere to attempt another logfile update…

No I just checked the Ford website and check that  the log file has been up uploaded that’s how I was able to do each download wouldn’t work before by putting your usb stick Back into your pc

Download your sync update install in your car take usb stick out and then connect your car to your home WiFi network or if that’s not possible tether it of your mobile phone and just do it that way and connected for about 10 minutes and then check the Ford website to see if the log file has been uploaded worked for me every time hope that helps
