Auto wipers not working - Fiesta Sport 2007

Featured Replies

Hi there!

First of all sorry for the misspells as English isn't my main language.

Back in June i bought a Fiesta Sport from 2007 (I love that car since i was a teen i must say). It have auto lights that works properly but the auto wipers aren't working.

When i turn on them it makes a first wipe that i read is for calibration in order to see how is the widescreen but then i won't wipe anymore even if the widescreen if full of water. I looked for info about it on Google since June but i couldn't find anything.

Yesterday i found some people saying it could be a relay as it has one for the timed wipers and another relay for the auto wipers but i couldn't guess if it's about my car or the next MK.

Thanks in advance for all the help that you can provide.

Most likely to be the gel pad between the sensor and the windscreen.

The light part of the sensor works wherever you put it.  But the rain part of the sensor must be in direct contact with the screen to work effectively.

The rain sensing wipers is controlled by the GEM/BCM

As Tom has explained above, the most common problem is the 'clear gel pad' that sticks the rain sensor to the windscreen

I tried to dismount the mirror holder to reach the sensor but i didn't know how to do it.

Also, i looked for info on Google but i wasn't able to find something about this Fiesta.

Is there someone with some info?

Thanks!

The mirror trim just clips together.  Slide the bottom down and the top up and it should come apart.

The mirror itself is also a slide fit on the screen mount.  I think that has to be slid straight upwards.
