MK7 Boot Unlock Issues

Featured Replies

Anyone have any experience with this?

Around 2 weeks ago my boot stopped unlocking with the main fob unlock button and only the boot unlock button will do it.

This behaviour remains the same however the boot is now unlocking itself seemingly when I've recently locked or unlocked the car with the fob.

Could it just be the fob or something more?

I don't have access to the 2nd fob at the moment to test but can get hold of it soon.

This is a 2010 diesel if it makes a difference.

It's a fault with the Body Control Module (BCM). Check it for signs of water ingress and/or greenish corrosion of the plugs and sockets. You might have to remove it to be able to get a good look.

Could also be a fault with the lock mechanism, although I'd definately be checking the GEM/BCM 1st for this issue.

Any diagrams on the location? Should it be under the dash/above the passenger footwell?

Is there any risk taking it out and putting it back that I could be unable to get into the car or at worst stop the car running?

To add to this is there a guide on replacing and programming it?

I have access to ForScan so can grab any config needed before removing the old part if it is faulty.

Is there be a possibility that it's the fob if the only issue is the process of unlocking the boot? Even though the boot occasionally unlocks without touching the fob at all?
