Fiesta 2002 1.3 ECU connector problem

Featured Replies

I have some electrical problem that i think maybe can be repaired just by cleaning ECU connector. But when i tried to remove it i didn't find the right tool to unscrew one and only bolt that holds it passing through the center of connector. Because of it's location it's impossible to see what kind of screw is used there. I tried with many types of tools but couldn't find the right one.  Anyone knows which one i need to use to remove it ?

If you are trying to remove the connector from the body of the ECU, then unfortunately you can't. The connector is bonded to the inside of the metal with an epoxy resin to make it a totally sealed unit.

You will have to replace the whole unit, and possibly reprogramme it.
