Only rear left turn signal not working with a fast noise ...

Featured Replies

Hello,

My fiesta fusion rear left turn light bulb no light (but front and side light flashing with fast frequency) when turn left hand turn on, and the clicking sound fast, please see attached short video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PISMWgxznXk.
Rear right turn light and clicking sound work normally (video attached https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jD1PnEOkyZ0).

Any advice on this issue? Many thanks.

Need a new rear bulb.

Thanks - Tom.

Sorry. I forgot to mention that I had the same issue one week ago. I also thought it was the light bulb issue. But when I opened the light box, I removed the rear bulb and put it back to the light bulb holder. It worked proberly again.

I checked the turn signal light bulb holder (my holder looks the same to a new holder shown bellow), no corrosions, no wet and dry, the connection points seemed solid and the bulb seated firmly no loose. Thus, I fixed back the light box. But today it happend again for the same issue.

Do not know what happened. I am not sure if it is the light bulb holder issue (short circuit sometimes?). I am planning to buy a new holder as shown below but not sure if the issue is from the holder.

Thanks.

You need to be positive the bulb is in working condition. Hold it up to the light and see if you can see a broken filament. Then, you need to swap over your 'working' indicator bulb from your working side and put it in 'non' working side.. This will tell you if it works, it's likely the bulb, if it doesn't work, it'll be the bulb holder which likely just needs the spring holder bent slightly to give a tighter grip on the bulb.

I will try what you suggested tomorrow and then update here.

The ground tab in the lamp holder is not protruding far enough out and is not making contact with the side of the bulb.

It just needs eased out a few millimeters with a small screwdriver.

Could be bulb or holder , but for the cost of a new bulb I'd buy a new bulb anyway.

I may have a photo for everything, but you also have a library of great graphics to explain things!

An update on the issue:

Today I tried to open the rear light box, vibrated the light bulb, it flashed again (and worked properly). I bended a bit the bulb holder connection piece to get better contact to the central point of the bulb, then I replaced the bulb by a new one (to remove any potential issues caused by the old bulb).

Let's see how long it lasts.

Thanks for all your kind suggestions and comments. Isssue solved at the moment.

The reason for the fast flashing is to alert the driver  that a bulb has gone. Don't think a blown side repeater bulb will cause it, only front and rear ones.

Front and rear 21W, side indicator only 5W.

So big change in current for front and rear, very little for side.
