My new Ford Fiesta MK8 (pre-facelift)

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I am a long lasting fan of the Fiestas. My mother had a Mark3 back in the late 90s, and my grandpa bought a Mark4 at 1999 which I had till two days ago. My brother is the next owner and I am so happy this will stay in the family.

yesterday I got myself my new Fiesta. An MK8 (2017 model - pre facelift) with first registration on 2021, with 29K killometers. I have fell in love with that car, although as it is snowing/raining in Greece at the moment I didnt had the chance yet to go for a long trip.

I have so many mods in mind like new wheels and tires, parking camera, new indicators, fog lights, maybe some tuning (along with better exhaust-intake) and maybe some body kits but I want to wait for some months till I know the car better and I have realised what I like/dislike about the car.

The 'saddest' thing is that the car has Sync 2.5 so no wireless carplay/ navigation is available which is a shame but not that big of a deal as I thought in the beginning. The car also has the basic camera for lane assist so I dont have any TSR or auto braking.

I am noob to modding so feel free to suggest me anything.

Thank you @dezwez 🙂

your welcome ☺️

Hi George,

I am no mechanic, but would recommend you check the service history, if your engine has Ecoboost engine, I would suggest an oil change as well as oil filter at the very least, these Ecoboost engines use wet cam belts, so regular oil and filter change recommended.

The 2021 model should have the new 1.0 Ecoboost engine which now uses a timing chain.

Still uses a wet belt to drive the oil pump, and yearly oil and filter changes are still a good idea.

Luckily for me, I got it used from the official Ford Dealer here, and thay have changed oil and oil filters for me.  But this is a good tip. I am planning on servicing it every year.

to be a 100% I am not sure when exactly it was build. As at Ford Pass app it says "Ford Fiesta(2017) 2021" I guess there should be on the door or somewhere. I have to check.

Sorry. I thought he said 2017 model

Ford confuse the issue a bit. For example, when you look for an online manual it says  "Fiesta (2017)" for the Mk 8 .

Unless I've missed it, I don't think George has said exactly what engine he does have, so far?

No worries. That's an interesting one though, not many 95ps versions turn up on here and the couple of (UK) cars that we have seen have had the revised engine ((first pic below), unlike the 100ps which seems to have retained the wet belt version (second pic) to the end.
