Mk7 Econetic Jerking

Featured Replies

apologies i think my original post went to the wrong group. Still getting the hang of this….

Good morning all. I have a 1.6 TDCI econetic and when letting off the throttle on deceleration couple seconds later  there feels like a jerk/ mass feedback through the car. I suspected the lower gearbox mount so changed that but made no difference. Hard to explain but thats the best i can come up with. Anyone else had the same problem or heard of it before would really help

thanks in advance

If it's the 8v engine, I had exactly the same problem with it in a 2012 Focus.  Made slow manoeuvres and carparks uncomfortable.  I also replaced the gearbox mount which made no difference.

Eventually I sold it and bought something more refined.  I suspect it's just poor ECU mapping.  At the time I did consider having a PCM update from Ford, but the cost & hassle outweighed the benefit for me, especially as there was no certainty of any improvement.

Hello all,

Suspect you're right Tom about the poor mapping... but for another angle, for what it's worth I had a 2011 econetic and the software update did improve it noticeably, with less jerky 'stepped' delivery. So you may not have to grin and bear it, Ryan... 🙂 up to you of course.
