MK5 Fiesta Fuse Troubles

Featured Replies

Hello all,

New to the forum so thanks in advance. I have a 54 plate Fiesta (mk5?), and have been having some problems with the fuses and lights. It started when I noticed that my passenger side tail light and brake light had stopped working. Changed the bulbs, but to no avail. Following this, all of the interior lights went off and every time I pressed the brake, the fog light indicator would come on. I've been driving with the rear fog lights permanatly on to get around this, until today.

I've taken another look at the fuse box and found a few blown fuses (F19 and F22). When I replace F19, I get my interior lights back, but no front side light nor rear side light. When I replace F22, F19 blows. I've left F19 in for now whilst I work out what is going on.

Anyone got any help or advice?

The earth connection is missing from the rear light cluster.

Often caused by the tab inside the bulb holder not making contact with the metal side of the bulb. Have a read of the attached thread and look at the picture of the lamp holder.

So… I’ve taken a look at this, I can’t quite seem to identify a ground tab on my tail lights. Please tell me if i’m being daft haha.

Follow the RED line on the picture to the connector (not shown in your photo) and it will go to the earth terminal.
