Key problems!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a ford fiesta 2010, i bought a key off ebay because i wasn’t a fan of the normal key. The one i bought from ebay is a flip key.

I have managed to pair the key to lock my car. I’m not to sure on how to programme it to start the engine. Ive tried doing it and it works then after using the locking on the key it won’t start my engine.

Any clue on how to programme it to turn my engine on properly so i can also use it to lock my car too.

I'm guessing you have had it cut to match your old key (the blade that is) in terms of programming it, you can either take it to your local timpsons and convince them to program the immobiliser chip to be a copy of your old key, or if you have two keys, use forscan (with the licence) and an appropriate cable (they are listed on the forscan website) and attempt to reprogram the PATs to accept the new key's immobiliser chip input.

Forscan may not do it

You could take it to Ford
