Mk5 central locking key

Featured Replies

Bought a cheap fiesta to get to and from work, and it only came with the one key, the plain plastic one (spare key) im certain it has central locking as when I lock the car the locks are powered (I could be wrong i suppose) my question is, how would I go about getting a central locking key made/programmed? I have googled and most of the results are for people who already have a central locking key and just need to reprogram it to the car, not someone who doesn't have one to start with, cheers in advance!

It does have central locking.  That's where it locks all doors from one 'central' point.

However it may not have remote locking if it's a very basic spec.  (Studio or Style)

Assuming it's Zetec or above, you will need a new remote programmed in by an auto locksmith.  Afaik it can't be done by the driver unless you already have one working remote.

There is a pandemic of people looking this done over the last couple of weeks. Without an existing fob, you have 2 x choices. Take it to a Ford dealer,OR an independent auto locksmith. I understand that Ford will charge about £180, and you can shop around for cheaper.

See this thread of a guy with the same problem:

If you can lock all doors via the drivers door lock the look on ebay for there cheap remote locking kits..

Easy to fit but instructions are  very poor.

This will give you 2 remote fobs and would save on ford's prices

Search on the net for fiesta locking wires..

Your 12v..ign..earth are all at the barrel

Locking wires are normally behind drivers kick panel or where the cables enter the car via the door grommet

Must admit I've never seen such kits. They'd not be for me as it looks as if you need to know what you're doing, and in my 'spare' fobs, I can put key in ignition, and drive off...

Fitted on many cars and work well.

Pay more and you can get better quality and window and roof closing...even key less entry
