Wiper and Washer Jets Not Working

Featured Replies

Looking for advice my wipers and washer jets aren't working, I've checked all the fuses and had the wiring checked.

All I can think of is that it needs to be plugged in and scanned to see if there is an issue with BCM.

Can anyone shed some light on why they aren't working or recommend someone who can come a plug in a code scanner.

I'm based it Tunbridge Wells.

If you want to try a cheap and fairly easy fix, you could try swapping the wiper stalk with a good used part.

If that doesn't work then it is likely to be a BCM fault as you suggest.

It's also worth doing the battery disconnect idea.

Remove the negative lead and leave it off for 20 minutes, before reconnecting. Wait  5 minutes to give all modules time to fully reboot before trying the wipers.

I've replaced the motor and stalk and still nothing so swapped the originals back and rechecked the fuses once I'd done that.

Guess I'll have to find someone local to me that can scan her to see if a fault code comes up as I don't have have a clue how to do it.

I'll give the battery disconnect idea a go today as see if that helps.

Forscan is very intuitive & easy to use if you want to try that.

I've looked at the free Android version and downloaded but for some reason it won't open on my Samsung S22 so I'm guessing it would be the same on my Samsung Chromebook

I'm not aware there is a free Android version 🤔. The phone versions are £7 or the Windows laptop version is free without the licence or you can upgrade to the licensed version for £12

Did you solve this issue? Got a similar issue with our fiesta

No joy with disconnecting the negative on the battery so don't know what else to do apart from getting someone to scan it for error codes

Just scanned mine using a borrowed scanner. Code came up as B1C45 front wiper park position switch. Couldn't clear the code so assume somethings not right. Any ideas?

The park switch is inside the wiper motor.

If the same fault occurs with both old & new motors then it looks like a wiring or BCM fault.
