Replacement wheel nuts

Featured Replies

My Mk8 Fiesta has the chrome covered type nuts which deform quite easily . I'm considering ebay for some stainless steel ones around £15 for a full set, they're one piece and supposedly better than stock, has anyone else replaced theirs ? Thanks, Dave

If TUV approved and made in the EU, then yes.  If made in China, then I wouldn't.  Call me old-fashioned.

I have bought sets for two cars - the open-nut stainless steel 10.9 still look brand new.  The black coated 10.9 set have the onset of corrosion showing, but they clean quite well.  I don't clean them.  These are on the Fiesta.  They have been on the car for 2.5 years, not garaged, used extensively in winter, mud, salt.

These may be the ones - but check with the seller if you want to know where they are made and to what specification.

I assume therefore you are using a 12 point standard socket on them. You should use a 6 point (sided ) hex socket to avoid damaging the wheel nuts . ( about £5 from Halfords etc)

Thankyou Orangecurry, that's the company,  I'm looking to but their own chrome version,  I'll email them, cheers.

And to RL, the car is Ford serviced and I guess they use an airline gun so me using my 6 sided won't help much, but I totally understand where you're coming from,  thanks.
