Mk7 ground location

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone can help, I’ve been looking for a place to ground a dashcam in my mk7 fiesta for ages and haven’t seen anything around the passenger side fusebox.

Does anybody know where the ground bolt is/if there is one? 64 plate 1.5tdci if that’s any use.

Thanks 😄

It doesn't have to be a bolt that's already got a ground wire.  Any bolt on the metal chassis will be grounded.

Thank you. Sorry I think I worded my question badly, I can’t see a bolt anywhere near the fusebox so I was wondering if anyone knew the location of a suitable bolt that’s accessible on the chassis? If I can’t find one would a strong adhesive conductive tape work do you think?

Unless your car is glued together, there will be bolts all over the place!  The dash itself is bolted in.  If you remove one of the plastic covers either side of the footwell, or part of the door trim, you will almost certainly find a suitable bolt.

This is a picture from my Mk3 Focus if that's any help.

😆 thanks a lot everyone! I can confirm my car isn’t glued together (or held with conductive tape…)

I found a bolt tucked away under the dash so grounded to that and everything’s working as it should!

Thanks again everyone 👍
