Sync 3 to Sync 3.4

Featured Replies

Good day.

Could Sync 3 be updated without any issues to sync 3.4 (by cyanlabs)?

Yes it can be updated but not entirely without issues. Have a good read of their forums and known issues.

Is there a link?

Is it sure that there will be issues?

I shall install later and report back.

I upgraded my sync 3.0 to 3.4 via CyanLabs with no problems and now have a lot more functionality.

Two times tried but it would process.

Shows error.

Now it is the third time.

It is updating several minutes now.

Two turn on/offs.

I expect why is covered in their pages - what volts ?

so many people think cars can be programmed with a flat battery - shouldn't try unless you have massive power supplies holding it above 14.5 v

Should the usb be fat32 or exfat?

Thank God.

Finally installed Sync 3.4.

Thanks to CyanLabs.

Appears to work nicely.

Any map updates should be from Syn3UpdaterSync. Correct?

It took 52.57 minutes.

Yes, you now update maps from CyanLabs as the Ford site will not recognise 3.4 in your car.

Follow the instructions on Cyanlabs site TO THE LETTER, which is what you haven't done and that's why it's failed

I upgraded my 2017 to 3.4 with no issues

When selecting on front page the sync version, it means the current version for example 3.3 2024 not the desirable.

Yes

I did mine yesterday from 3.0 to 3.4 through cyanlabs with no issues, just took 52mins of idling my diesel

Nice.

It works nicely. Better do master reset after the installation.

Indeed it seems faster.

Sync 3.4 with updated map works nicely (map not so well).

It is fast and it is handy.

Master reset also fixed the language, now it shows the map again on local language.

Yes it can using Cyanlabs.

I've got a pre-facelift MK3 - known issues are:

Instrument cluster display no longer shows Ford logo and displays bright white at startup

Auto-dim control set on and removed meaning annoying screen flickering at dawn and dusk / tunnels etc

Other than that, everything works as it should.

Yesterday it led to another destination/address number.

Having Sync 3.0 at present and I am looking to do an upgrade to 3.4 with Cyanlabs. One known issue that I read from their website is that on right hand drive vehicles, dual zone climate control will not function properly in Sync 3.4.

There is no on-screen climate control function in my Sync 3.0 currently, and I don't actually need this function in 3.4.

If I proceed to upgrade to 3.4 using Cyanlabs, may I ask if the on-screen climate control function will be enabled automatically? If yes, is there a way to disable the function?

Thanks

If it doesn’t show now, it won’t start with 3.4. It requires as built data changes.

As mentioned, you need to activate climate screen with Forscan.

And it does work, it worked OK on mine, you just have to tell it you're RHD

So only with forscan?

No other way?

Is there a video or something to show how to be activated?

You need to have auto climate control first, obviously doesn't work with manual A/C
