Fiesta Mk8 Heater Resistor Location

Featured Replies

After leaving my Fiesta Mk8 2018 on the drive for a week, I find the heater fan is not working.  All the other lights for the heating system are responding and I can hear various things whirring in the dashboard as I change the settings.

First stop: check the heater resistor.  If this is faulty, then a £10 replacement from Amazon will do.  If not, then I can go down the longer and more expensive route of checking the heater fan (at a Ford dealer).

Queries:

  1. Where exactly is the heater resistor located.  I understand it is behind the glovebox (and not on the side of the centre console, as per a Mk7).  Is that correct?  And exactly where on the panel of fuses and connectors is it?
  2. How does one get the glove box off?  After disconnecting the damper on the left, the instruction book says undo two clips, but I can't see any.  There aren't any inside the glovebox, and I can't feel any under it.  Squeezing the sides together doesn't work, as the lugs that stick out each side are too long.

I hope someone can help, I would like to avoid the local dealer's £150 diagnostic charge if the fix is trivial and easy to do.

Thank you !
