Fiesta MK7 Reverse Camera

Featured Replies

Could somebody help me please

I’m wanting to fit a reverse camera to my head unit, I’ve seen some with a camera and boot release button built in so no drilling required.

Only issue is all the cameras with the boot release button don’t have anywhere for me to put the plug (top image) to go into.

From what I’ve seen online is you have to chop the plug and solder the wires that are on the camera unit for the boot release button to work.

My question is, is it possible to get a plug end to fit to the camera unit wires in the bottom photo so I don’t have to chop the plug?

If so could you please put a link below, or if you have another alternative I could use to put a reverse camera in without drilling.

TIA

If you want to use the Ford wiring and the Ford connectors then you have to use the genuine Ford reverse camera.

The cheap units with the cameras that you can buy on eBay for under £40 are different and not compatible with the Ford wiring. They use a small coaxial cable that you need to run through to the front of the car and connect up to the head unit via an RCA phono connector.

I would be very surprised if your car has the full factory fitted reverse camera wiring harness fitted, as mostly there are sections not fitted if the car was built without the camera.
