Any Mk8 ST3 Owners with FORScan?

Featured Replies

I have a separate thread (New ST-3 Sudden Engine Shut Down) with more background if anyone is interested but I am trying to find out whether there is a problem in the brake pedal switch or related circuits on my 2023 built car which might be causing the engine to randomly shut down.   I'm hoping there is someone with a late model Mk8 ST3 and FORScan diagnostics who could confirm whether the following FORScan information is normal or not.

Using the FORScan Lite app, I’ve looked at live data in the "Dashboard" screen for the PCM and BdyCM modules related to brake pedal operation.  Tested with engine running and car stationary.  In the PCM module, FORScan has a BOO (Brake ON/OFF) PID and a BOO2 (Brake Pressure Applied) PID.  When I press and release the brake pedal, both these remain Off.  BOO “Off” is displayed in red text and BOO2 in green text.

In the BdyCM Module, there are PIDs for BOO_1 (Brake Switch 1) and BOO_2 (Brake Switch 2).  BOO_1 status stays Off but BOO_2 cycles On/Off when I press and release the brake.  BOO_1 is in red and BOO_2 is in green text.

If anyone has a similar car (I don’t know if there were any changes in this area during the Mk8 production but the wiring diagrams I’ve got are 2021) and can check this out for me, that would be really helpful.

Thank you.
