Fiesta 2009 Airbag Light

Featured Replies

I have an airbag light that has been on for a while. After scanning for codes I get 2 error codes for the Restraint Control Module, the first is U3000 29-08 and the second is U3000 53-08. Would replacing the module remove the light or is there something for me to check in case that might not be the fix i.e. Fuse, loose cables, or connections?

Thank you

Diagnostic trouble codes that begin "U" are in themself not an actual fault. It is indicating a communication error between modules.

If you use FORScan to read the DTC's in place of a generic code reader you will most likely get more information regarding the problem.

Got a bit more detail from forscan.

Check the connectors under the drivers seat. They often get disturbed and cause an issue with the RCM.

Also the IPC fault could very well be the infamous problem with the dry solder joints which can cause false seat belt warnings. Give the top of the IC a couple of thumps with your hand and see if the fault changes.

I've unplugged and plugged the connectors underneath the driver and passenger seat but still no fix, is there anything else I should look out for?

......and thumped the top of the dashboard above the instrument cluster ?

Have you tried using FORScan to delete all DTC's

Gave it a beating but no change, deleted the DTC but it just came back.

Invalid signal can mean comms issue, but to the module, so it can be anything.

Airbags, seat bags, side impact bags (if fitted), clockspring etc, you have to check everything

This gives an idea of some of the things that can cause the U3000 code

Guys, thanks for the video, guys, I hope, guys, you sort the issue, guys
