Mk2 - Heated Windscreen Fuse(s) Location(s)

Featured Replies

Hi, can someone let me know where I would find the locations for the heated windscreen fuses. It appears only one side is working correctly.

From what I've read on here there is 2 fuses per side (I think)?

Thanks

If you didn't get a manual with the car, they are available online here - ford.co.uk/support/owner-manuals

Thank you @TomsFocus.

Correct I didn't get a manual with it! I'll check out the link.

Also if a fuse was burnt out would it not flag an electrical fault code in FORScan?

Unfortunately the link returns no data for my vehicle....oh well no manual for me. I am sure I could search for one online somewhere.

Not necessarily.  Some circuits use a return voltage (sensors mainly) and some use CANBUS data to detect whether they're working correctly.  Some of the basic circuits may not have any way of detecting an open circuit.  On that note, it would be worth checking the cables at the bottom of the screen.  They are very close to the bonnet hinges and easily damaged.

I literally used that site to pull the above info.  Put in the year 2008 and choose the Focus manual for 'post MCA'.

Found it now, I used my registration first but didn't seem to like it.

Perhaps me just reading too much in to your statement, but are you saying one side works fully and the other side is only partly working ?

@unofix that is how it appears to me....the LHS appears to clear better than RHS....

RHS is patchier if that makes any sense....

Ah !!!!

Thought that might be the case. The problem is 100% NOT the fuse. They either work or they don't.

On a 2008 car it will simply be a case of the heating elements are failing in the screen. The only fix possible is to replace the windscreen. Look on the bright side if it was to ever get a big stone chip it would have to be replaced (assuming your insurance would cover glass breakage).

@unofix it does have a few stone chips in it already...not sure if they have been treated locally, or if they are beyond local smart repair....

Think my policy has gone up since my last vehicle had windscreen replacement....think it was £75.....now £110?
