ford fiesta 1.6tdci anyone had issues with the vacuum system  air coming in via split pipe/gaskets

Not a Fiesta, but my mk3 Mondeo TDCi has vacuum egr and turbo actuator, and one of the rigid pipes from the vac. pump to the solenoids had split near the solenoid, but was still intact so really took a lot of inspecting to find it. Repaired it with some rubber tubing from Halfords.

thanks for that. did it affect the running of the car

There was 'something' not quite right with the running that I couldn't put my finger on .... also every so often I'd hear what I can only describe as a sort of 'quack' sound.
