Breaks and Rear Suspension

Featured Replies

The local auto club here does cheap thorough car checks, I usually do one before the annual required inspsection. I use them as they are independent and non-profit, and won't do the repairs so they have no interest in recommending anything. Anyway this year they informed me that the rear suspension (ressorts, springs) has rusted so badly that it will need replaced, and that the disc breaks also need fixed. Please can someone give me a rough indication as to the price for such a thing before I asked the local (and expensive) garages ? This year the timing belt also needs changed which is coming in at around 2k Euro...

Otherwise the car is in excellent condition so I would prefer to keep it.

2x rear springs - £50

2x front brake discs - £80

1x set front brake pads - £25

Parts total = £155 (€180)

+ 3x hours labour - £240

All in total = £395 (€460)

I am assuming you meant front brake discs as UK spec Mk7 1.0 Fiesta's do not have rear brake discs.

Thanks, it is not so expensive. Probably  a bit more here, but still doable. As for break discs, I will defer to those who know such as yourself 🙂
