I have very recently purchased a Ford fiesta Titanium Ecoboost.

As much as the mpg indicator fluctuates while I am driving, it often shows 99.9.

Does it mean that I am getting 99.9 miles to the gallon at that time?

    It generally happens when you are off the throttle and the engine stops injecting fuel. So you are technically getting infinite mpg but it’s limited to 99.9 on the display. It works better in l/km as it just says 0 instead.

    Ignore that, when it shows 99.9 it means is that the injectors are not putting any fuel in because the engine is on overrun.

    The one that matters is the overall average consumption.
