PHOD
Hi All, I'm in the middle of finding a leak in the boot of my 2008 Fiesta MK6 Zetec S. Last leak was an issue with the highlevel brake light, must be at least 4 years ago, new unit bit of silicon and no further issues. This time is passenger side right in the corner. I've removed the soaked side carpet trim but to work out exactly where it's coming from I need the side plastic trim removing too. This is under the plastic trim which runs along the width of the boot we're the boot latch catches on - held down by 2 T30 screws. Is the removal of this piece as simple as undoing the 2 screws ? They're not bolts where the nuts are going to drop down into the body work so I can't lock the car 😭 Is the side plastic just a case of removing 1black & 2 silver screws near where the latch for the back seats are - or is it more complex ? All the how to videos online seem to skip this step - so it's either easy or I'm missing the relevant video. I've got silicone round the headlight wiring gasket that fails, screw holes, seams underneath the headlight pod, redone the highlevel brake light and the rubber wiring cover at the top of the boot. PHOD
Ah terminology ...... it's the trim around the boot striker that I need removing 1st - that's where the 2 bolts/screws are visible that I mentioned in the original post

It is that easy to unscrew them.
