I have very recently (5th March) purchased a Ford fiesta Titanium Ecoboost. So have a lot to still learn.

So sometimes the Miles left indicator increases instead of decreasing.

For example, driving home today the 321 miles was indicated. When I got home, 331 miles! How can that be?

The ESTIMATED range is based on the past 100 miles of driving and is projected forward as a "best guess"

If in the last 100 miles you have been driving hard, or stuck in slow moving traffic then the car will have used a lot of fuel. If now you are doing some easy steady driving and making good steady progress then the car will be using less fuel.

Today, for the first time, I used the cruise control. So perhaps that is a contributing factor? There was however today about 10 minutes of the driving was in slow moving traffic.

Must say I really like the experience (a steadier and smoother drive) and also noticed that as much as the mpg indicator did fluctuate, it was at higher mpg and also often showing 99.9.

Moving forward, will be using the cruise control often.

Not many people bother with the Instantaneous mpg, most just select the average mpg display.
