Knocking/Rattling

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can help me with this lil problem.

My 67 plate Fiesta 1.0litre Titanium ecoboost has developed a strange knocking, it sounds like it's eminating from the front of the vehicle, but not sure precisely where, at first I thought it could be something to do with the suspension/steering and that when I turned, but it also happens when I have travelled on a straight flat piece of road and still get knocking/rattle, I have checked the belly pan thinking that this could be flapping about & also checked the wheel arches, I have even looked under the bonnet. I did see the coolant tank was a little wobbly but see it's designed that way, but not enough to warrant the noise that I'm hearing. I'm also not feeling any knocking, vibration or rattling through the steering wheel which I'm hoping it's not anything to do with the suspension (fingers crossed). I'm contemplating jacking it up to check the exhaust system, I have also checked the spare wheel and jack are also secure in the boot, I wanted to see if anyone else in the group has had the same problem/experience or could give me any advice which would be appreciated.

UPDATE..................

Had the car on ramps and bounced the car, grabbed the anti roll bar whilst car was being bounced & it turned out to be the bushes for the anti roll bar. Whilst the car was on the ramps I grabbed the bar and shook it, and there was the knocking sound that I was hearing whilst driving it, so it'll be 'going in' for bushes and drop link renewal, just wanted to let everyone know because someone else might have come across the same problem.
