MOT Advisory (worried)

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

I have a 1996 Ford Probe. 2.5 V6

The probe passed his MOT yesterday but I am a bit concerned about one of the advisories.

Blue smoke on acceleration

I have looked up the possibilities and it’s says to check the seals and piston rings.
is it something I should be worried about.
The Tester told me it’s because I don’t take it out enough. To be fair it has only done about 50 miles in the last year!!
I know I’m supposed to take it out more, but I’m very protective of him and there are so many idiots on the road now.

I have taken the probe to the same garage for years and they know it quite well now.
Emissions always a pain, but eventually always passes.
No smoke any other time. Always very clear.
He has a small oil leak that as of yet I haven’t managed to pin down.

Any advice would be gratefully received.  😁

Listen to the advice of the MOT tester. Use it more or it will fall apart just sitting in the garage.
