Hi everyone,

I have a Ford Fiesta 2018 St-line

Just curious, has anyone had a problem with loosing compression in cylinder 1 causing it to misfire?

I’ve had the coils, spark plugs and injectors changed and still nothing, it’s also burning a lot of oil from this. Some people have said about the wet belt maybe being the problem??? Can you let me know if anyone else has had this problem please?

Joys of the ecoboost engine I guess🙃

The wetbelt can't cause one cylinder to lose compression.  But yes, others have reported single cylinder compression loss.

Has the compression test been done yet?

It could be something as simple as a broken valve spring or collapsing hydraulic bucket.

Ah ok, it's not really worth stripping at garage labour rates as you could find a crack in the head once it's removed.  Quicker & cheaper to fit another engine, which is what Ford dealerships would do in that situation.

Thanks Tom for your support and advice. I’ve been looking into new engines, just need some pennies to buy it and for the labour haha

No problem.  As you're in Yorkshire, Pumaspeed are worth a look for the engine replacement.
