Ford fiesta mk6 1.4i high compression

Featured Replies

Hi I was hoping someone could help me.

I have an 03 fiesta 1.4i with abnormal high compression ranging from 300-325psi across all four cylinders. Oil level has risen and smells of petrol

Compression test was carried out with throttle open/shut, fuel rail disconnected/connected

It's running ok surprisingly but it's blowing oil through most of the gaskets and failed emissions miserably.

The only parts that have been changed engine wise is a cheap oxygen sensor about 3 years ago and a new pcv valve

There are no lights on the dash, it's not really smoking but is a bit under powered under load.

So, I'm thinking carbon build up in cylinders possibly caused by the cheap sensor I've fitted, worn oil control rings or scored cylinders or a partially blocked cat or if there's a pcv filter anywhere

High compression is something I've not really seen before so was wondering if anyone else has had any of these issues?

I appreciate any help or advice on this

Thanks

Hey, firstly I would re run the compression test and do it the right way as your results are basically no good. I would check the pcv system isn’t blocked as that would build pressure in the block.
