FORD FIESTA 1.4 TDCI 2010 turns over but doesnt run

Featured Replies

My daughter has a 1.4 tdci Mk7 2010 which has suddenly stopped running.
It turns over and sounds like it fires once but then cuts out.
I've bled the filter just so there is fuel and it had a new fuel filter a few months ago when I serviced.

Glow plug 1 is knackered as per forscan but no other codes.. glow plug looks like a nightmare to change but I'm just confused to why it wont start even with easy start

If it won't fire on EasyStart then it could be low on compression.  If that's the case, the timing belt might have slipped one or two teeth out.  Do you know if the belt has ever been replaced?

Don't waste your time changing a glowplug as it doesn't need them to start or run. It's not good practice to use easy start, but if it won't even fire up on that stuff then maybe take off the rocker cover and check for loose bolts, etc., which may indicate a broken rocker cradle.

I've not changed the belt and its at 85k so Ill have to take a look at this and check the rocker covers thanks both
