Mk7A power mirrors

Featured Replies

Just had a bit of a mishap reversing out of my garage.  I normally retract the mirrors as it's a bit tight but forgot to do this yesterday.  Due to my lack of attention, the n/s mirror touched the garage post and pulled of the cover and the repeater lamp. As you'll know, the repeater lamp lens projects about 5mm which was enough to pull it off together with the cover (missed the mirror surround itself). Now, as far as I know,  it appears that it should all click back together as I can see no damage to any clips etc.

My question is, is the lamp attached to the body of the assembly (separately from the cover) and if so, how? Is it glued? The cover I know, is a separate item but how is the lamp/lens held in place?

I guess there's a knack to clicking it together.  Any advice appreciated to avoid having to buy a new mirror which I'm sure aren't cheap.

There's a little catch on the lens which holds it, then the cap keeps it in place.
