mk7 Fiesta upgrades

Featured Replies

hello peeps, my son and i are slowly upgrading his 1.4 titanium Fiesta to something a bit more sporty. Does anyone know if ST suspension would bolt up without any modifications as we can see lowered and up rated bits for those models but not ours? Presumably front brakes would bolt up as well, but not sure if we would need to change the master cylinder or if they would be the same? Finally, does anyone know if there is a ST style kit that would bolt up to his bumpers, or would we be better off getting used ST bumpers and spoilers?

Thanks all :)

Hi Richard,

Thread here might be of interest:

https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/132537-mk7-zetec-s-v-st-suspension/

With a 1.4 I wonder whether going the whole hog with an ST set-up would be worthwhile, rather than Zetec S or aftermarket equivalent.

On bodywork, bear in mind the ST is a facelift (Mk 7.5). The rear was basically unchanged so you can fit the ST rear diffuser/spats (several threads on here where this has been done eg:

Front end, the facelift was more substantial, so you'd be looking at bonnet, lights, bumper, etc to do the full job. A Zetec S front spoiler or aftermarket one is the usual option.

Plenty of aftermarket stuff also if you have a Google, e.g. Pumaspeed, Maxton.

Usually much cheaper to just sell it and buy what you want

A modified car is often more expensive to insure

When it's time to sell anything modified you'll probably find it's more difficult and you'll probably get less money than an unmodified car

Not saying a few mods are wrong but when you're looking at changing suspension, bumpers etc is it really worth it ?

The Zetec-S body kit and spoiler and wheels were available as a dress up kit, so you can just plead ignorance that they were on the car when you bought it so presumed it was just a factory option.

ST suspension probably isn't worth the cost or hassle, just get a set of Eibachs

Brakes aren't really needed on a 1.4

Yes, Richard didn't mention side skirts or whether it's a 3 or 5 door but you could get them for both as a dealer fit option plus spoilers etc, or the full kit as a factory fit option on a 3 door Titanium.
