Front brake pad selection

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone can help. I'm looking for new front brake pads for my Fiesta but am struggling to know which ones to buy as there seems to be various options. I've changed brake pads many times but not yet on my Fiesta. I'm looking online at Brembo pads but there are at least two or three different part numbers for the Fiesta. My car is a Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 140 Zetec-S registered in 2017 but built in early 2016 (MK 7.5 I believe). It has brake drums on the rear. Any advise would be appreciated.

I'd give the Brembo's a miss altogether.  Bought a couple of cars with those on and wasn't impressed at all.  Noisy and dusty.  Pretty sure they aren't built the same spec as OE Brembo's found on performance cars.

As a 2016 build your VIN might work on catcar to confirm the Ford part number, which can then be cross referenced for aftermarket parts.

If not, these are the best I can do for a Mk7.5:

With front discs & rear drums - 258mm front discs - 1855307 - Genuine Ford Fiesta Mk7 Mk8 Front Brake Pad Axle Set 2008-2016 1855307 | eBay

With discs all round - 278mm front discs - 1860476 - Genuine Ford B-Max Transit Courier Fiesta Mk8 Front Brake Pad Set 1860476 | eBay

Indeed. I've also got nothing positive to say about Brembo's 'standard' range/grade of front (vented) discs (from my 05 plate MK2 Focus).

Happy to provide some help and offer a few choice of brands if you can give me the VRM or chassis number?

Too many Chinese poor quality copies out there....I'd go OEM pads,  (Ford's own brand) and have done with it.
